More and more of today’s devices are a combination of mechanics, hardware and software. While each discipline would like to believe that they are the instrumental piece of the puzzle that will ensure a successful product, the fact is success requires each discipline to work in concert.

This Lunch & Learn will look at product development from the eyes of the mechanical engineer. Providing insight into the thought process, discussing good design practices and how they might impact hardware or software, and describing the tools available, when they are used and how they can improve the quality of the design. By gaining a better understanding of the mechanical design process the goal is to enhance the spirit of collaboration between the three major disciplines and justify the importance of that collaboration.
