Women Leaders Celebrate the Legacy of Robert A. Ingram

Robert A. Ingram, who died in March at age 80, was one of the most important leaders in North Carolina life sciences. His contributions, as CEO of GlaxoWellcome (now GSK), General Partner of Hatteras Venture Partners, founder and chair of the CEO Roundtable on Cancer, and as the B. Kenneth West Lifetime Achievement Award winner of the National Association of Corporate Directors, demonstrated his unwavering commitment to civic leadership.

Mr. Ingram also believed in championing the next generation of leaders and took a special interest in identifying and mentoring women, many of whom have gone on to stellar careers in business, government and public service. The program, sponsored by the NCBiotech, pays tribute to this lesser-known aspect of his legacy, featuring some of the women he encouraged to dream big and make a lasting impact.

The program includes the announcement of the first Robert A. Ingram Fellowship in Corporate Governance, selected by the NACD Research Triangle chapter and RTI International.
