Offshore wind is a valuable clean energy asset with the potential to serve as a valuable component in the nation’s energy transition. With 3 offshore wind leases, NC has the potential to develop over 6 GW of offshore wind energy creating thousands of jobs. Despite challenges, North Carolina is continuing to make strides towards early development of offshore wind.
