Central to this discussion are two key concepts: “Experts Should Be Experts,” underscoring the importance of human expertise guiding AI applications while pushing the envelope in their field, and “The Democratization of Self-Expression,” illustrating how AI opens opportunities for broader participation in innovation and creativity. 🎤 Talk 2: How OSS gets me better work

Talk Summary – The world runs on Open Source Software yet it seems rare to meet a software engineer who is a regular contributor to open source projects. I got into Rust in 2018 and found that there were missing features in libraries and found it very approachable. Since then I’ve submitted 570+ PRs and authored 283 issues to ~150 different repositories. I maintain/co-own a few Rust projects with +1m downloads.
